ANITA WENDEN, Ed.D. is President and co-founder of Earth and Peace Education International www.globalepe.org , Director of Peace Education and Research for the organization, she develops and organizes EPE's educational activities. She is Professor Emerita of York College, City University of New York, where she co-founded and served as director of the College’s Cultural Diversity Program. She has also taught at the UN mandated University for Peace (Costa Rica) and is founder and book review editor of the Journal of Peace Education www.tandf.co.uk/journals . She is presently teaching in the Center for Peace and Conflict Studies' online program (University of Sydney)and was the main NGO representative for the International Peace Research Association at UN headquarters in New York City (2005 -2013) where she was the founding chair of an NGO Subcommittee on Women and Climate Change.

FRANS C. VERHAGEN, M.Div., M.I.A., Ph.D. is co-founder and past president  of Earth and Peace Education International (EPE) and founding President of the International Institute for Monetary Transformation (IIMT. He is a sustainability sociologist with training and experience in divinity, international affairs and applied sociology. After working in Ghana (1963-68), he studied international trade and economics at Columbia University to complete a PhD in international development. He has used this training mostly in secondary and tertiary education in the metro New York area. In 2009, he founded the International Institute for Monetary Transformation and is now pursuing the development and implementation of the Tierra Solution, a carbon-based international monetary system to combat climate change through low carbon and climate-resilient development.  He also presently teaches EPE courses with the National Peace Academy's online program and  is past convener of the International Peace Research Association (IPRA)’s Ecology and Peace Commission.
